Current Positions
We are currently hiring for a Certified Occupancy Specialist/Property Manager for our corporate office in Montevideo, MN!
Certified Occupancy Specialist/Property Manager Duties
– Conduct interviews with residents to determine eligibility for housing assistance programs
– Verify income, assets, and household composition of applicants and residents
– Calculate rent subsidies and determine tenant rent portions based on program guidelines
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident files and records
– Process move-ins and transfers of residents
– Assist with property leasing activities and processing applications
-Process annual and interim recertifications of residents
– Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner
– Collaborate with the property management team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and program requirements
– Coordinate with maintenance staff to address maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
-Coordinate with the property management team to market vacancies
Requirements
– High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in property management is a plus
– Prior experience as an Occupancy Specialist or similar role in affordable housing or property management is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
– Knowledge of affordable housing programs such as Section 8, LIHTC, Rural Development, or other subsidy programs is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
– Familiarity with property leasing processes and procedures is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
– Proficiency in using property management software is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
-Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
– Strong understanding of fair housing laws and regulations is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
– Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
– Ability to effectively manage conflicts and resolve issues with residents
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
